Motivation and Emotion
Motivation is defined as the
psychological processes that arouse, direct and maintain behavior toward a goal. Why do you do the things you do?
Emotion involves 3 major components:
1) physiological changes in our bodies (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.)
2) subjective cognitive states (the personal experiences we label as emotions)
3) expressive behaviors (outward signs of these internal reactions)
